The Summer I Turned Pretty star Jackie Chung addresses her real age after Google error has fans thin

Actress Jackie Chung has set the record straight about her age after a Google error had baffled fans thinking she was 62 when she is only 44.

The Summer I Turned Pretty star, who plays Belly's mom, Laurel, on the Prime Video series, confirmed she's not a sexagenarian after sharing a photo of herself posing with her beloved dog Atticus.

'Only one of us is in our 60s. Guess which one? Hint: he enjoys chasing squirrels, eating bubbles and sniffing butts,' she cheekily wrote in the caption.

'I AM NOT 62!' she added, just in case there was any confusion.

The post was liked by Jenny Han, the author of The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy that the show is based on.

Chung's age has been a subject of speculation since it was announced that she would be playing Laurel on the teen drama in 2021.

Google incorrectly states that she was born on July 10, 1961, and is 62, which has led to other media outlets reporting she is in her 60s.

Chung may play the mom of teens Steven and Belly on the show, but fans found it hard to believe that the youthful-looking actress was almost a senior citizen.

'Google is lying about you!! That’s so weird, when did you bring 62 become a thing?' one person asked.

'Omg! I just googled you to see your age because I’m nosy and I was *stunned* when it said 62. Then I came here and saw this post,' someone else shared.

'Thank god for this clarification. My bf and I have been racking our brains for the past few days,' another added.

Chung never stated her exact age in the post, but she is 44.

'Hope I stop aging now and look the same at 62!' she joked in the comments.

Chung, a graduate of Stanford University, started out as a theater actress.

She is married to actor Louis Ozawa, 47, and they share two children together.

Chung guest-starred on Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, and Deadbeat before landing the role of Laurel Park.

'I liked Laurel right away. I think her humor is so funny. I think it's one of the things I share with the character is our similar humor,' she told Collider about being cast on the show.

'So I was excited about it and I had seen the To All the Boys films. So I was already familiar with Jenny's work. And I love that she is obviously an Asian American woman creating Asian American stories.'

Chung explained that The Summer I Turned Pretty is 'not just an Asian American identity story,' saying she 'didn't have a show like this' when she was growing up.

'I didn't have a Belly to connect to and be like, "Oh, my stories matter too." Or, "I could be on that screen like that too,"' she said. 'I'm really grateful and happy to be on the show.'
